FAQs
What do 3000K, 4000K and 6000K actually mean?
Kelvin describes the colour of the light, not how bright it is. Around 3000K the light is warm and slightly golden, the way a lamp looks in the evening. 4000K sits in the middle: clean and neutral, good for getting ready and for makeup. 6000K is cool and daylight-like, closest to standing by a window at midday. Fixtures that offer more than one setting say so on their product page.
How do I know which size to order?
Measure the space before you buy, not after. For a mirror or a vanity light, measure the width of the vanity or cabinet below it and leave a few inches of wall on each side. For a pendant or a ceiling piece, measure the drop you have to work with from ceiling to the top of whatever sits underneath. Full dimensions are listed on every product page, so compare them against your own numbers rather than eyeballing the photo.
Do I need an electrician?
It depends on the piece. Anything hardwired should be installed by a licensed electrician, which is both the safe answer and usually the code answer where you live. Plug-in pieces do not need one. Each product page says which type it is, so check there before you order.
Is the light dimmable?
Some pieces are, some are not, and some have a touch control built into the fixture instead of working with a wall dimmer. That is listed in the specifications on each product page. If a fixture is not marked dimmable, do not put it on a dimmer switch.
How long does delivery take?
Orders are processed within 1 to 3 business days and you get a tracking link as soon as yours ships. The delivery window for your address is shown at checkout.
What if it arrives damaged?
Email support@caelumelighting.com with a photo of the damage and your order number. Glass and finished metal do occasionally take a knock in transit, and it is on us to sort it out, not on you to argue about it.
What if it does not work out?
You have 30 days to return it, unused and in its original packaging. Sizing is the most common reason for a return, which is why we would rather you measure carefully first.
Can you help me choose?
Yes. Tell us the room, the rough dimensions, and what the space is used for in the evening, and we will tell you what we would put in it. Write to support@caelumelighting.com. A real person reads every message.
